Sitting in her studio one gloomy winter day, Jennifer Glover Riggs decided to experiment with bright, happy colors that reminded her that spring was just around the corner. There is something about the transition of the earth from dull and colorless to a riot of growth and color that is so hopeful and inspiring. These paintings are a reminder that no matter how dark and difficult things may seem, that there are always more colorful, optimistic and hopeful days ahead. Special commission for the Burke Cares Staff Lounge.

Fayer creates paintings with layers of acrylic paint interspersed with thin collaged papers printed with her own designs, using printmaking tools she developed over many years. Inspired by things seen in her daily life; whether it be a simple object, a landscape, or a visually compelling moment while on the train or walking in the city, Fayer considers every work a unique challenge.
